Jeff & Joanne's trip to Puerto Vallarta MEXICO

December 2006

MEXICO PACIFIC

DAY 1

Jeff and Joanne traveled by bus from Puerto Vallarta to Boca,
a small village about 30 mins south of the city.

From there they took a small boat to a remote village called Yelapa (aka Jelapa) that was only accessible by boat. The accommodations were great - palapas (grass-roof huts) on the beach, for $65/night.
It was gorgeous!

The evening view from Jeff & Joanne's room (individual hut)
in Yelapa. Within a 3 minute walk was a lovely outdoor
restaurant that served the yummiest tuna! :)

DAY 4

On Jeff & Joanne's fishing expedition out of Sayulita,
Joanne caught a 44 lb Mahi Mahi.

It took about half an hour to land it, and a great deal of muscle to get it into the boat!

Made for a delicious lunch....Jeff sold it to a local
restaurant for cash and a free meal. :)

Jeff and Joanne found a great little apartment on the beach
in Sayulita, a surfing village about an hour north of
Neuvo Vallarta. It was $85/night, the most expensive
accommodations on the beach.

It was fully furnished, including pots, pans, coffee maker,
fridge, stove, full bathroom, and a loft (sleeps at least 4).

The apartment was right on the beach. Here is the outside view of the building (self contained - rentable for upstairs, downstairs, or full unit for an extended family).

The other photo is from the kitchen,
looking onto the beach & ocean.
